Joyful Hearts ministry is designed for individuals with developmental disabilities, providing a quality camping experience in a safe, Christian environment.
Summer Joyful Hearts campers take part in the usual camp activities, but each activity is modified based on the needs of the camper. Activities include swimming, canoeing, archery, games, arts and crafts, worship, Bible studies, campfire, faith building activities, and many more. In addition, there are special activities each day, all of which help make this a truly unique and memorable experience!
- Monday – Horse Ride
- Tuesday – Bingo
- Wednesday – Talent Show
- Thursday – Wagon Ride and Dance (Bring a nice outfit for the dance!)
Our staff and volunteers are trained in working with campers with a variety of disabilities and are committed to ensuring each camper receives personal guidance and assistance as needed. We strive to maintain a one-to-one, or in some cases, two-to one ratio of campers to staff/volunteers to ensure each camper has the best possible camp experience.

To ensure a safe and positive Christian environment for every camper, Camp LuWiSoMo expects each camper’s behavior, speech, and clothing are appropriate for the Christian atmosphere we are trying to model.
