Dining Hall project--Feeding His Flock campaign
Recently the Camp Board has obtained updated drawings and construction estimates for the new dining hall. The cost of construction has increased over the past few years. In addition, a sprinkler system will now be required as part of this construction. Therefore the estimated cost along with a contingency fund, our construction estimates for the revised one story dining hall have increased. We would like to start construction as soon as possible. However, without additional funding this cannot take place. Our estimated costs appear to be an additional $250,000 to $350,000 in order to proceed with the bidding process.
There is good news to share in this announcement. The camp has received an anonymous donation of $100,000. With this gift, a matching challenge has been placed on the camp to raise an additional $100,000. We need to raise this amount in order to capitalize on this donation. With some additional cost saving plans and donations we expect to receive for reducing our building costs, we hope to be able to proceed with this project in 2012. In order to keep our dining hall operating we must find a way to meet this challenge and schedule this project soon.
All of the funds donated for the Feeding His Flock campaign have been (and will be) kept in a separate account. These funds will utilized for the planning, building, and furnishing of the dining hall building project. In order to collect on our previous matching grant of $250,000 and this current offer of $100,000, we need to have donations received by June 1, 2012. We greatly appreciate all the past support for the LuWiSoMo ministry. Please consider supporting as we make this final push for the future of Camp LuWiSoMo.
